Circadian Light for Mac
=======================

Which download?
  - Apple Silicon (M1, M2, M3, M4 and later): Circadian-Light-<version>-mac-apple-silicon.zip
  - Older Intel Macs: Circadian-Light-<version>-mac-intel.zip
Not sure? Apple menu > About This Mac: "Chip: Apple M..." means Apple Silicon.

Requires macOS 14 (Sonoma) or later.

Install
  1. Double-click the zip to unpack it. You'll get "Circadian Light.app".
  2. Drag "Circadian Light.app" into your Applications folder.
  3. The first time only, macOS blocks it because it isn't from the App Store or
signed by a registered Apple developer. To allow it, open Terminal and run:

         xattr -cr "/Applications/Circadian Light.app"

     then open Circadian Light normally.

(Instead of Terminal: try to open it, click Done, then go to
System Settings > Privacy & Security, scroll down and click "Open Anyway".
If macOS says the app is "damaged", use the Terminal command above.)

Using it
Circadian Light lives in the menu bar (a small coloured disc), not the Dock.
Click it for the menu; choose Settings... to set your wake and bed times.
Turn off Night Shift (System Settings > Displays > Night Shift) so the two
  don't stack.
To start it when you log in, tick "Start Circadian Light when I log in" on the
  Apps tab.

Uninstall
Choose Quit from its menu (colours go back to normal), untick "Start ... when I
log in" first if you ticked it, then drag "Circadian Light.app" to the Bin.
Settings are in ~/Library/Application Support/CircadianLight (safe to delete).
